Since November 2005, Rhonda Chittenden has served as an effective and visionary leader of our organization. Under her leadership, our maturing organization has secured new funding streams, added additional staff positions, relocated our offices to the capitol city, and ensured trusted relationships with collaborative partners, new and old. Rhonda has a long history of work in Iowa’s sexual and reproductive health community. She is one of Iowa’s leading sexuality educators with expertise in female sexual subjectivity, reproductive health counseling, and coalition leadership. Awarded the Courageous Advocacy Award by the Iowa Gender-Specific Services Task Force in 2006 for her advocacy on behalf of girls in Iowa’s juvenile justice system, she holds a Master of Science degree in Family and Consumer Sciences Education from Iowa State University.

Joy graduated with a B.A. from Linfield College in Oregon, with a major in Sociology and a minor in Spanish. Her work in social services ranges from a children’s advocacy center and refugee resettlement to case management for pregnant and parenting moms and after-school programming for young women.
